From the manufacturer:

"The Bareback Saddle is built in the USA. This saddle can be used on any shape horse. The top is made with 1.25" Merino sheepskin, the underside is real wool felt. It's built with flex plates on either side of the spine to prevent pressure points. The flex plates move with the horse and disperse bearing weight evenly which allows you to take long rides without soring your horses back. The rigging is very secure, western "D",with a tackaberry cinching system. For additional stability we recommend a breastplate. The poleys (knee pads) are solid leather."
